Solar Eclipse Catch the Moment. A few moments before totality, August 21, 2017, Murphy, North Carolina. I'm guessing that the small white patch to the left is a satellite, as when enlarged, you can see its trail due to the long camera exposure. Also, there was a natural reflection of the moon over the sun, appearing as a purplish ring at the bottom of the image. The eclipse itself exists as taken by RAW image format by the camera--the sun and moon are real as they appeared at the present time. The image has been adjusted in Camera Raw, as this image was purposefully overexposed in order to capture some detail in the moon. I didn't want it to appear as a black circle. In adjusting the image, I darkened the exterior, as originally it appeared as a pale blue, which was interesting, and will eventually be posted, but I wanted to showcase the moon covering the sun.
